Fun Run

On Friday, April 15th, get ready to run!
It’s our 4th Annual Fun Run, raising money for
The Jacaranda Foundation for AIDS Orphans in Malawi, and the Grattan PTA.

Friday, April 15th. Fun Run for K-2 starts at 10:10 a.m. 3rd - 5th graders start at 9:00 a.m.

Students test their grit while helping others. Some of the proceeds from this year's Fun Run will go to the Jacaranda Foundation, which supports over 400 AIDS orphans in Malawi by running the Jacaranda School for Orphans. The event also completes the PTA's fundraising for the year, which supports teacher salaries, literacy specialists, the computer lab, and more.

All volunteers and runners get a t-shirt. Parents tell us every year how much they love volunteering at this event. Sign up for positions here:

What to Do

  • Parents must sign the insurance waiver for their children to participate: due 4/9/16.

  • Pledge forms go out the week of 4/4. Use these to ask friends and family to support your child’s run. Every child who turns in a pledge sheet earns a shirt (suggested shirt donation $10). Shirts are distributed on 4/15 in students’ classrooms and must be worn for the run for safety reasons.

  • Fixed donations of support can be pledged online via Shopify or turned in on the day of the event. Receipts are available online.

  • Pledge forms will be collected in class on 4/15.

  • Music is DJ’d throughout the event, the “Phun Zone” has fans to keep kids cool, water stations keep them refreshed, and parent cheerleaders encourage them at every turn. Safety monitors are along each block.

  • Runners get marked as they complete each lap. The run finishes where it starts, with nutritious and delicious fresh fruit and carbs.

Our goal is to raise $12,000 this year—every small donation helps!
